We are delighted to invite you to attend the VII International Symposium on Postharvest Pathology: Next frontiers for improved knowledge and management of postharvest disease organized under the aegis of the International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS) and the International Society for Plant Pathology (ISPP).  This meeting offers the opportunity for like-minded scientists to learn about the latest methods, technologies, and science that are being used to examine and control postharvest diseases of fruit, vegetables, arable crops and ornamentals.

The VII International Symposium on Postharvest Pathology will run concurrently with the IX International Postharvest Symposium and the X International Symposium on Human Health Effects of Fruits and Vegetables in the Energy Events Centre, Rotorua, New Zealand,  November 11-15 2024, with a shared Plenary session at the beginning of each day.

Our meeting will be longer than usual allowing time for a full complement of Keynote speakers despite the shared Plenary sessions.  The unique and special qualities of the Postharvest pathology group will be protected by the provision of a separate room in which all pathology talks except for the Plenary will be presented.

Topics will cover:

  1. Novel technologies
  2. Plant pathogen interactions
  3. Microbiomes
  4. Disease cycles
  5. Diagnostics
  6. Resistance genes
  7. Pathogen genomics
  8. Postharvest treatments
  9. Biological control

Industry presentations will also feature, giving insight into areas of need and the ultimate practical uses for our science.

We look forward to seeing you all during the VII International Symposium on Postharvest Pathology in New Zealand.
