Bus:
The number 29 bus is the main service from airport to central city and departs every 30 minutes from 6:20am weekdays and 7:12am on weekends. Timetable is available here. The number 3 bus also runs to the central city but not all services pass the airport. Both buses arrive at the central bus exchange that is a 10 minute walk from the conference venue and is close to central accommodation options.
Payment: Christchurch bus transport is changing to contactless (credit/debit) card payment and that is available on the number 29 bus at a cost of $2NZD per journey. Currently transport on other routes in Christchurch is by Metrocard (see here to obtain) which costs $2 per journey or at $4 per journey with cash.
Christchurch has a comprehensive bus network that can be used to access most ports of the city. A full bus network map can be downloaded here.
Taxi:
A taxi rank is present outside the international terminal at Christchurch Airport, follow signage. Likely fare from airport to central city would be between $55 to 65 NZD

Super shuttle offers door to door services in multi-passenger vans. Cost $25 for an individual person or $125 for exclusive use of entire van that can seat 11.
Uber does not pick up from Christchurch Airport but can be used for rides around the city and to drop off at the airport.
