Departs: Napier, New Zealand – Saturday 25th January 2025

Tour concludes: Auckland, New Zealand – Wednesday 29th January 2025

The post symposium tour will have a balance of technical and commercial fruit crop visits, with a good mix of tourist sites visited along the way including:

  • commercial orchards (e.g. blueberry, kiwifruit, avocado) commercial packhouse, horticultural research facilities
  • tourists sites such as: Huka Falls, geothermal capital of NZ, Rotorua, and Hobbiton movie set.
  • the tour will include all transportation, accommodation and entry fees with meals as indicated in the final itinerary.
  • the final details are yet to be confirmed more details will be available closer to the time.
  • tour subject to minimum numbers of 15 passengers being reached; the deadline to reach minimum numbers is 29 November 2024. Bookings can be accepted up to 8th December 11.59pm New Zealand Time.

Cost:  Single occupancy: NZ$3,430 inc gst 

Twin/double: A saving of NZ$600 per person can be made if you wish to share a room - you must nominate the person you will travel/share the room with - please contact events@plantandfood.co.nz if you would like to explore this option prior to registration.

Cost includes:

  • all Transporation from Napier to Auckland as described in full itinerary - link below - in private coach with air conditioning and English-speaking drive//guide
  • all accommodation based on single occupancy with private facilities as stated in itinerary - if you wish to share, please contact events@plantandfood.co.nz
  • breakfast (B), Lunch (L), Dinner (D) as stated in itinerary
  • all visits to companies as listed in itinerary

Cost Excludes:

  • any travel/flights prior or post tour
  • any credit card charges
  • any meals not included in itinerary
  • use or entry to hotel rooms before/after normal check in/out times - general check in time is 2 or 3pm and check out 10am
  • any optional or suggested excursions
  • morning or afternoon teas not specified in itinerary
  • personal travel insurance - we highly recommend you take out personal travel insurance

Things to note:

  • a credit card imprint may be required at check in at the hotels to cover any personal extras you purchase whilst at the hotel
  • the itinerary may change due to any unforeseen circumstances
  • luggage: due to space capacity your suitcase or bag must not exceed 23kg (50lbs) with dimensions 76cm x 51cm x 30cm (30” x 20” x 12”) 
  • delegates should be in good health and able to walk moderate distances to fully participate in the sightseeing and field trip options
  • walking shoes which are closed in for the field trips are required
