Postharvest 2024 now incorporates three symposia — The IX ISHS International Postharvest Symposium, the VII International Symposium on Postharvest Pathology, and the X International Symposium on Human Health Effects of Fruit & Vegetables (FAVHEALTH 2024) which will be held concurrently at Rotorua Events Centre.
The event offers a great opportunity to meet with leading professionals in the fields of postharvest, postharvest pathology and horticultural health-related research. We will balance high-quality science presentations with engaging workshops and informal discussions, with an emphasis on young and emerging researchers and postgraduate students. The event will also include a field trip to the Te Puke region and symposium dinner at the amazing Hobbiton movie set.
New Zealand's location and export focus necessitates research and innovation that ensures the delivery of premium horticultural products to distant markets. Postharvest pathology is a major part of postharvest systems, and the increasing interest and emphasis on healthful products makes these three areas of broad interest. New Zealand’s experience in these fields makes it an obvious choice for the symposium.
Complementing the science aspects of the symposium will be a recreational programme that includes social activities and opportunities for enjoying Aotearoa/New Zealand’s unique culture, and Rotorua — a world- renowned tourist destination.
